In the beginning...

Six months ago, I put in my application for Jerusalem Center.  I waited a long month to hear if I was going.  Then I got that fateful letter telling me that I was 16th on the wait list.  16th!
I talked to Debbie in the Jerusalem Center office on the way to work and she told me that there was always a chance, thought 16 is pretty far down on the list.  I passed Debbie's office at least twice a day going to work and leaving.  I checked back week after week, and while I was moving down, it was slow progress.  Being the planner that I am, I was dying.  I could either be in Provo or half way across the world!  So I prepared for both: I was signing up for classes in Provo and buying long skirts for JC.

Fast forward to December 20th.  Being number three on the wait list, I was pretty sure I wasn't going at this point.  But as I was sitting on my couch recovering from getting my wisdom teeth out, I got a phone call from Debbie with exciting news:  There was a spot available for me to go!  Three weeks later, I am getting ready to board a plane tomorrow and spend a semester in the Holy Land.

I am grateful for Heavenly Father's hand in getting me here (and helping sell my contract) and for this experience to literally walk for Jesus walked.

Here's to a great semester!
